Container Gardens at
Commercial Storefront

These large concrete containers at a commercial storefront in Candler Park flank each side of the front entrance and were planted with attention to structure, texture and color for maximum visual impact. Blue arrows rush (Juncus), a soft blue-green, grass-like evergreen anchor the center of the smaller containers. The unique glory flower (Tibouchina grandiflora) provides a spectacular backdrop with its velvety grayish-green leaves and royal purple flowers towering above the rest of the container. Colorful annuals like purslane, dichondra, and creeping Jenny fill out the space and spill over the sides. The larger containers are planted with our favorite evergreen loquat trees (Eriobotrya japonica) which provide year round interest with beautiful white winter flowers and early spring apricot-like fruits.
